We use only 100% organic cotton fabrics, batting, and thread (many of which are GOTS Certified). Water-based pigment inks and low-impact dyes reduce exposure to harmful compounds.
Our Quilts Are Sustainable
Simply put - organic cotton is more sustainable. Grown without pesticides from seeds that have not been genetically modified benefits us and our environment.

How it all started
Margaret first mastered sewing in a bridal shop nearly 40 years ago, with her little ones crawling at her feet looking for sequins while she worked. Sewing soon became a passion and a business throughout the next decades.
Fast forward to making pieces for her grandkids, she and daughter-in-law Lindsey realized no baby quilts were being made in the country using ENTIRELY all organic components. Lindsey's keen eye for patterns & colors matched with Margaret's dedication to high-end quality construction got their brains thinking about creating something truly unique & special.
They knew these quilts would be something health-conscious mommas would want for their little babes, and decided their home of Northern Michigan was the place to get it started. In January 2021, Piece Maker Quilts was born.
